Meet A Blogger: Enchanted By Books

It’s that time again — Meet A Blogger Monday. This time Danielle from Enchanted By Books has fearlessly submitted her answers for this odd mini interview thing. Danielle blogs about books and parenting, two of my favorite topics. Meet A Blogger

Tell us what got you started blogging.

I started following various book blogs and decided I wanted to start one of my own (hence the blog name). But over time I decided I wanted to write about other things, like crafty things and general, random life stuff. I’ve been blogging for just over 4 years now and I still follow some of those first blogs today! (Random Fun fact: my first post was Oct 6 2011 and Oct 6 2015 is my son’s birthday.)

Who is your spirit person? You know how some people say they have spirit animals, so a spirit person is like that, only a person. (It can be someone famous or not.) Why’d you pick this person?

Hmmm… I’ll come back to this one… (cue waiting Muzak) …

I’d probably have to say my 2 best friends, K and K. We’ve known each other for about 12 years now (since freshman year of college). One transferred to a different school after that year but kept in touch with us. We so easily get right back into conversations, even if it’s been a little while since we last got together or talked. The most random things remind us of each other or things we’ve done over the years. We can be our goofy, 18-year-old selves with each other (even if 2 of us are already 30…yikes). We’ve had a group text going since last April when 2 of us shared we were pregnant (our babies are 2.5 weeks apart!), which has helped keep us connected on a regular basis, and we all appreciate that since we’re so busy with work, babies, and whatnot that it’s hard to get together right now, but nice and easy to just send a quick hello, picture, or joke most days.

Tell us about the post you most enjoyed writing. Include a link, please.

I’ve enjoyed writing many posts, but I guess one of my favorites was when I took some time to write about our dog Sonny. (It’s a post from almost 4 years ago.) I also enjoyed sharing the news about Baby D! (This ended up being the hardest question for me to answer!)

Would you rather…give up blogging or reading books?

Sorry, I’d rather give up blogging 🙂

If you were in a band, what would the name be?

Once, in high school, a few friends and I talked about having a band and calling it The Ripple Effect. (Mind you, I didn’t have any experience playing any instruments, but went out and bought a guitar that, after a few times, sat in the closet collecting dust. I’m pretty sure it’s probably still at my parents’ house…)

Last text message you received over 10 words?

Group text with 2 best friends, K & K, where one mentioned she pre-ordered Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

Three blogs you’d like us to check out?

Geoff on The Oddness of Moving Things — great book blog; he’s local to me, so it’s fun to read about places and things I’m familiar with, and he does really great reviews. (I’m usually adding what he’s posted about to my to read list!)

Karen on Did You Make That — fantastic sewing/craft blog. Super talented and always an enjoyable read!

Nicole on The Middlest Sister — amazingly talented with comics made out of various scraps of paper; very entertaining!

Want to participate in the Meet A Blogger thing? Comment on the post with your email, or email me at thatanxiousmom@gmail.com, and I’ll add you to the longish list of people I plan to send a short list of questions to that you can take as seriously or as non seriously as you want.
