Share Your World – 40

041514 sywbannerWhy did you start blogging?

I wanted an outlet to talk about depression, anxiety, and general life stuff.

A piece of clothing you still remember?

My Hanson t-shirt I wore all the time in middle school (and, yes, I was absolutely teased for it). I still have it in storage somewhere, but it wouldn’t remotely fit now.

Who are you trying to reach with your blog?

People I can relate to, whether it’s by personal beliefs, sense of humor, shared experiences, or something else I’m not thinking about. Such people are hard to come by in real life, but I’ve found quite a few in the blog world!

Is there a stuffed animal in your bedroom?

Yep, several, in fact. Three belong to Little Man, who slept with us last night. The others belong to me (a Care Bear Cousin and a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle), which I found in storage a couple weeks ago, plus a stuffed bear my little brother gave to me when I was 17.

The best birthday present ever?

Hmm. I suck at remembering gifts, as I’m not really a gift person, but off the top of my head, I’d say the desk I received when I was in third grade. I remember feeling so excited and grown up over having my own little work space.

What would surprise me about you?

Probably my quietness, unless you’ve seen me reference being a quiet person on here before. It can take me quite a while to warm up to people, which you might not expect as chatty as I can be in the blogverse, via text, etc.

    • I know a lot of people found (find) it annoying, but it was cool as a kid to have someone my own age singing about fun stuff rather than sex and drugs. It’s also been fun listening to them progress and change with their music as I’ve gone from 13/14 to 32.

  1. You know what? I was about to dog you for Hanson, but I’ve heard them sing now as adults, and they really are gifted vocalists. They really are good. Plus, my 19 month old, about a year ago, one of her noises was “mmm-ba,” and it made me sing this song to her.

  2. I am also a very quiet person until you get to know me and then sometimes I just can’t keep my mouth shut! So I understand your surprising fact, communicating orally vs. communicating in writing are really 2 very different things.
